“Triterpenoid Compounds from Chios Mastic Gum: A Technical Guide for Researchers” by BenchChem™ and “Assessment report of Pistacia lentiscus L., resina (mastic)” by the European Medicines Agency Offer Stronger Evidence of the Plausible Efficacy as to the Health Impacts of the Intact Digest™ Lines

On 11Mar26, Impact Fusion International offered emerging and plausible evidence as to the efficacy of the Intact Digest™ Line containing Nutri-Mastic™.  

An excerpt from a study released in 2026 by O.A. Alabrahim, et.al. and titled “Enhancing the therapeutic potential of Pistacia extracts: a review of nanocarrierbased strategies” offered the following: “The Pistacia genus is a rich source of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, polyphenolics, tannins, and terpenoids, which contribute to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties.”

This science was further supported by a “Review” published by. S. 

Soulaidopoulos, et.al., titled “Overview of Chios Mastic Gum (Pistacia lentiscus) Effects on Human Health. An excerpt from this “Review” offered “Table 2. Human studies assessing mastic’s effects.”

Since then, our IFUS Scientific Team has intensified its search for plausible evidence to refute or support claims being made by customers as to effectiveness of the Intact Digest™ Line, when used responsibly and under the care of a physician. The IFUS Scientific Team performed an extensive review of various studies published in juried journals and reports like those mentioned in the tag-line of this update. In the process, linkages have been drawn from one of several phytochemicals contained in Chios Mastic Gum to the regulation of moieties like (a) the NLPR3 Inflammasome, (b) the Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, (c) TNF-alpha, (d) Cytokine Production, (e) Gut Microbiota, and more. 

Numerous scientific trials, as well as volumes of patient data collected in these trials, demonstrate a linkage to human disease through the various axes that connect the gut to the heart, the brain, the liver, the kidneys, and more. Of profound interest are links to the efficacy of Chios Mastic Gum in providing relief to these human aliments, to include (but not limited to) “Signaling Pathways and Mechanisms of Action – Anti-Inflammatory Signaling” discussed by BenchChem™. 

An excerpt states: “Triterpenoids from Chios mastic gum have been shown to exert their anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting NF-kB signaling pathways.” This is illustrated below by a flow chart provided by BenchChem™ titled: “Caption:

Furthermore, in another published study by S. Paik, et.al. and titled “Updated insights into the molecular networks for NLRP3 Inflammasome activation” published in Cell Mol Immunol (2025 Apr 30; 22(6): 563-596. Doi: 

10.1038/s41423-025-01284-9, a diagram titled “Transcriptional regulation of 

NLRP3 expression” states: “The activation of TLRs by DAMPs, PAMPs, and proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF and IL-1B triggers NF-kB activation, which subsequently induces the transcription of the NLRP3 gene. The NF-kB-dependent transcription is mediated by FADD and capase-8.”  

This is shown in the above diagram to be linked to NLRP3 mRNA, which has the 

IFUS Scientific Team exploring the effect that Chios Mastic Gum and Ionic Minerals may have on Mitochondrial function to include cell preservation and repair of healthy cells and cell apoptosis (programmed death) of diseased cells.

It is relevant to note that many of the chemical triggers for the production of the “NF-kB Signaling Pathway” linked to the NLRP3 Inflammasome include: 

  • PAMPs – bacterial toxins, like those produced by H.Pylori.
  • DAMPs – extracellular ATP, uric acid crystals, and/or amyloid‑β aggregates. 
  • Cytokines – compounds like TNF, IL-P3, and more. 

Furthermore, “Beyond rare genetic syndromes, dysregulated NLRP3 activation contributes to many common diseases: 

  • Gout
  • Atherosclerosis
  • Alzheimer’s disease 
  • Liver disease 
  • Metabolic syndrome 
  • Neurodegenerative disorders

The IFUS Scientific Team is attempting to map specific actions, interactions, and/or interactions of the specific phytochemicals and phytohormones contained in Chios Mastic Gum as well as the Nutri-Mastic™ contained in various IFUS Product Lines to specific up-regulation and down-regulation of specific biomarkers so as to elucidate the efficacy of our products. An example of this focus is illustrated by a brief exploration into Cytokines (specifically TNF-alpha): 

“Difference in inflammatory reactions between H. pylori lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and E. coli LPS. E. coli LPS stimulates mononuclear cell (MNC) to upregulate the production of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), whereas H. pylori LPS has an anti-inflammatory effect that selectively upregulates IL-18 and IL-12 but inhibits other cytokines, leading to the suppression of T cell surveillance, which promotes gastric cancer initiation and progression.”

We are reminded that there are numerous studies to include patient trials linking the efficacy of Chios Mastic Gum to suppressing and/or eliminating H. pylori infections.
